<p >Con un entusiasmo y energía ya característica
de estos eventos, arranco la 2da edición de
VON México. Cientos de expositores y miles de
asistentes llenan los pasillos de la Expo
Banamex de la Urbe de Hierro; capital Azteca.
La muestra de equipos de comunicaciones
excede la expectativa de los más exigentes
participantes. Muestras de equipos de enlaces
de WIFi, WiMAX, Voz IP, telefonía hibrida e
inclusive de convergencia IP-GSM, TDM, son
solo unos ejemplos de la misma.
Sin duda el interés por la tecnología va en
aumento, y a pesar de la “incertidumbre”
legislativa, no puede uno ignorar que el uso
y despliegue de la tecnología a todos los
niveles de la sociedad continua creciendo a
pasos agigantados.</p>

<p >Con gran interés esperamos las palabras de
los titulares de COFETEL, SCT y otros
organismos y asociaciones de la industria. El
dialogo suele ser superficialmente alentador
pero sin propuestas concretas. La
intranquilidad dentro del congreso por las
reformas a la Ley federal de radio y
Televisión continúa. Los amparados permanecen
a la espera de una resolución y las
televisoras aun no logran desplegar algún
producto de triple play en el mercado.
Sin duda el status quo domina aun. Sin
embargo las fuerzas del mercado se han
desatado y es poco probable que la regulación
pueda hacer algo por frenar la ola de Voz IP.
Nos mantendremos al pendiente del murmullo
de fondo durante y después del evento. Es muy
probable que muy pronto Telmex sorprenda con
una oferta que intente contrarrestar el
empuje de Voip y la erosión de sus ganancias.</p>

<p >Es muy poco probable que, desde el punto de
vista tecnológico Telmex pueda
específicamente Voz IP en gran escala. Hasta
donde podemos constatar, el operador ha
realizado bloqueos de algunos puertos en el
rango de 5000-6000 en los últimos meses en
algunas regiones del país. Pensamos que se
trata de un estudio de viabilidad para
explorar cuan posible sea el hacerlo de
manera global en el país.
Los países que han experimentado con bloqueos
de puertos pronto han desistido de la
práctica. Es logísticamente complicado,
extremadamente costosa a gran escala y
tecnológicamente imposible. La inspección
profunda del tráfico de red se logra en redes
administradas dentro de los corporativos para
evitar el uso no autorizado de voz IP. Con el
advenimiento de tecnología criptográfica y de
túnel de SIP el intento de bloquear VoIP es
sencilla y llanamente inútil.</p>

<p >Cuando una tecnología arriba, con el
potencial de cambiar radicalmente la
industria, no es sino de esperar que
similares se unan e inclusive se fusionen
para tratar de capitalizar en la ventaja
competitiva de mercado que ofrece el recién
llegado.
Canalizar tráfico de las redes de CDMA y GSM
por voz IP constituye un cambio violento en
cuanto a comunicaciones. Consideremos que
otrora los carriers forzosamente tenían que
conectar con Telmex para mover trafico de una
zona geográfica a otra y de un país a otro.
Ahora, los operadores móviles gozan de
alternativa que les representan un ahorro de
hasta 80% en sus interconexiones.
La PYME tiene ahora también otra herramienta
para agregar a su arsenal de comunicaciones y
reducir sus costos. Dispositivos de
convergencia GSM/VoIP pueden ahora conectar a
la red de telefonía tradicional para crear
enlaces fluidos y sin costo adicional para el
usuario.
La oferta de estos dispositivos no se hizo
esperar en VON y aquí esta. Véalos!!!</p>
